BlissPR Media Training Program

When it comes to media training and coaching for print, TV and radio interviews, we believe strongly that every potential spokesperson deserves “best in class” service on three fronts: first, they deserve informed counsel from a trainer who is intimately familiar with their business and the environment in which it operates; second, the media trainer must fully understand the needs of the company’s target media; and third, thought leaders deserve an honest evaluation of their presentation skills.

BlissPR offers media coaching for all skill levels, from those who have never dealt with the media before to seasoned spokespeople who are looking to refine their interview skills.

  • Full Scope Media Training: For new or emerging spokespeople or those who would like a “refresher course,” BlissPR offers a media training session that covers 1) “rules of the road” tips to maximize media opportunities, 2) a message development session and 3) mock interviews designed to focus on specific spokesperson/program challenges.
  • Mock Interview Session: If the spokesperson’s program messages and/or story hooks are firmly on track, the Mock Interview focuses on specific behavioral training for the individual. We help spokespeople gain confidence presenting information to the media by demonstrating how they can customize their company’s messages for different audiences—e.g., the financial services beat reporter at The Wall Street Journal is looking for a different angle than an American Banker reporter.
  • “Quotability” Session: Even seasoned spokespeople can get in a rut, with a series of interviews that do not convert into print. This session is designed to help experienced spokespeople “package” their commentary in a more compelling fashion. Special attention is paid to developing customized metaphors, analogies, “headlines,” “sound-bites,” and examples that will grab a reporter’s attention.
  • Pre-Interview Session: Some media opportunities matter more than others. For those interviews where it’s critical to get the message/story right, a brief pre-interview session can help calm nerves and focus efforts.
