Why PR?

Curious by nature, I have always been drawn to people’s stories and the way one person’s experience intertwines with another’s to create the storyboard of events that we call news. After a few internships at newspapers, I knew I was intrigued by the media but wanted a profession that allowed me to work personally with clients on an account management level. Because of the changing media landscape, it is an exciting time to work in PR as we really need to craft programs that involve out-of-the-box ideas.
Areas of Expertise and Interest
Working with both professional and financial clients, I have had the ability to learn about a wide range of industries and am very interested in further developing my media relations skills. I am fascinated by the way companies are embracing social media and how PR professionals can help pave the road for their clients in this realm. Considering I found my job at Bliss through Twitter (yes, this is true), social media is proving to yield positive concrete results.
What I Did Before BlissPR
I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2008 with a B.A. in journalism. After graduation, I was accepted into a PR training program at a large NYC agency where I worked in the Corporate Communications group. During my time in the program, my focus was on campaigns for consumer healthcare products.
What I Do for Fun
Living only a Metro ride away from the cultural playground of D.C. during my college years, I developed a love for art museums. Reading, traveling and spending time with family & friends are also on the list.
