Nathan Burgess Senior Account Executive

Why PR?

Nathan Burgess: Senior Account Executive, BlissPR-B2B Public Relations and B2B Marketing Services

Like many who find themselves in PR, my journey did not run a straight course. After earning a B.A. in liberal arts and a B.S. in psychology, I completed law school and became a corporate and securities transactional attorney in New York. But PR isn’t a total stretch. My extracurricular activities include college newspaper editor, a brief stint as a freelancer for the local daily newspaper, and a love of technology in all of its aspects. As you might expect, my wide educational and work experience proves to be helpful in public relations where one pro is expected to wear a multitude of hats.

Areas of Expertise and Interest

I’ve been tinkering with online communities and the Internet for approximately 20 years—going back to the days of Bulletin Board Systems and Prodigy. Needless to say, what we now call digital and social media have been a part of my daily life for some time. The addition of my prior work experience blends well with Bliss’s overall vision.

What I Did Before BlissPR

Prior to joining Bliss I practiced media relations at a boutique firm specializing in professional service public relations. Before my foray into public relations I was an associate attorney in a NYC-based law corporate and securities law firm.

What I Do for Fun

There’s something other than PR?
When I’m not slaving away over a hot netbook or iPhone, I’m playing with my kids, writing, woolgathering, registering an eclectic assortment of domain names, attending social media networking and learning events, or enjoying life as a seasoned New Yorker.
