Why PR?

My early appreciation for written and verbal communication has evolved over time into a deeper drive to help promote valuable ideas. As news cycles churn out stories about new initiatives across the globe every day, each yields opportunity for new strategy and campaigning across countless industries and sectors. While implementing media activity and strategic messaging, I've used resources to coordinate communication and to help important ideas enter the world. The PR industry is the perfect place for me to hone my enthusiasm for progress and fast-paced dynamics.
What I Did Before BlissPR
Before settling into B2B PR at Bliss, I first dived into policy-based branding and campaigning. I spent one summer in Washington, D.C. lobbying the U.S. Congress on data security, healthcare and FDA policy; and during the following months I worked with a European Union Commission team in Dublin, Ireland, compiling statistics on economic conditions following the Celtic Tiger downturn. Enjoying life abroad, I also worked as a commercial assistant for the U.S. Department of Commerce in Sydney, Australia, where I managed U.S. suppliers aiming to export and brand their products in the Australasia region. Upon returning to the U.S. I learned the ins and outs of client work while providing PR, community relations and media relations assistance to on-line startup companies, the Boston University Athletics Department, the Massachusetts State Senate, and the eight talk shows I hosted on the Boston radio station WTBU. In 2010 I was briefly involved with a Wall Street-based research organization in its Marketing and Public Affairs department. I graduated from Boston University with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science.
What I Do for Fun
I spend my free time distance running, backpacking, and traveling. I'm always welcoming suggestions for great podcasts, vegetarian recipes, and Irish whiskeys.
