Why PR?

Matthew Kirdahy: Account Director, BlissPR-B2B Public Relations and B2B Marketing Services

After reporting the story for newspapers, magazines and the web for nearly a decade, I decided it time to be on the other side of the tape, to be the one telling the story. I owe much of the success I’ve experienced as a PR professional to my background in journalism. That cumulative knowledge has helped bring my clients’ messages to life across all channels, creating boundless opportunities to dispense a smart and clear message for the benefit of their businesses.

Areas of Expertise and Interest

Speaking broadly, my focus in the PR game has and likely always will be in financial services. As a journalist, I’ve interviewed some of the most prominent figures in modern business and I carry with me the knowledge of those experiences into the innovative, insightful and progressive campaigns that we drive here at BlissPR.

What I Did Before BlissPR

For my entire career, I’ve surrounded myself by the smartest professionals I’ve ever met and they have always made me better at what I do, be it as a journalist or publicist. My first job out of college was reporting for a weekly newspaper in New Jersey, followed by a gig at a daily. I then graduated to Forbes. After that I cut my teeth in the PR racket with a mid-size agency where I learned, perhaps above all things, the three rules for success.

What I Do for Fun

I read, write and engage in most outdoor sports, though I’ve never been accused of being an athlete. Manhattan is a playground and I aim to enjoy it as much as time permits.
