Why PR?
I knew I wanted to pursue a career that was fast paced, interactive and creative—something where being outgoing and talkative would be an advantage. Public relations seemed a natural fit. I love working at BlissPR, because it allows me to use my knowledge of the financial world (without spending all day in Excel spreadsheets), and I can use my imagination on a daily basis.
Areas of Expertise and Interest
My work at BlissPR has focused on clients in the financial services industry, specifically in banking, insurance and asset management. I spend what some would consider an embarrassingly excessive amount of time each day reading the news media—trying to stay up to date on trends and reporters’ beats. Day-to-day, my primary responsibilities involve account management, media pitching and writing.
What I Did Before BlissPR
I was lucky in that I found BlissPR right after graduating cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA (go Generals!). In college, I studied abroad in Japan and served as a resident advisor and tour guide.
What I Do for Fun
I enjoy exploring the exciting city that I call home—and love trying new restaurants, walking around the neighborhoods of New York City, visiting museums and trips to the theater. The homebody in me enjoys learning how to cook, reading and watching the Food Network. Whenever I can, I like to visit new places and escape to see my family in Texas.
