Why PR?
Working in PR indulges my favorite pastime on a daily basis: storytelling. Maybe it was all the country music songs—growing up in Nashville—but I find it hard to believe that there is anything more powerful than a well-crafted story. When I graduated from college, I wanted at least two things from a career: the ability to work with and help other people, and a day filled with creativity and great stories. I was lucky to find both, and then some, at BlissPR.
Areas of Expertise and Interest
New to Bliss, I have had the opportunity to work with both Professional and Financial Services clients in the investment banking, asset management and economic development industries. My focus is primarily on media relations, account team support and developing client relationships. Working with the media to share our clients' exciting and innovative ideas is one of the best parts of the job.
What I Did Before BlissPR
I graduated from Sewanee University in 2008 with a BA in English. What could easily have been mistaken for the set of a Harry Potter movie, complete with chalk-stained robes and Gothic architecture, Sewanee was truly a magical place and my time there was invaluable. Before launching my career in New York City, I went to work in marketing for a start-up financial services company in Nashville, TN called Edo Interactive.
What I Do for Fun
Some things that top the list: any and all time spent with friends and family, visiting museums, discovering new tunes, exploring the great city of New York, fishing with my Dad, reading psychology magazines and reading in general. My roommate and I are currently trying to make it through the “100 best books of all time,” so wish me luck!
