Why PR?
Everyone has a story to tell – an idea to share. Good communication is about finding the stories that get a person’s or a company’s ideas to the audience that they want to reach. No matter the size of company, I enjoy using my creativity and writing skills to help clients tell their stories and ensure they are heard. The fact that I get to do this in a dynamic environment, where I am constantly learning about new topics, just makes me love my job even more!
Areas of Expertise and Interest
My work at BlissPR focuses on clients in the financial services industry, such as banking and insurance. In today’s rapidly-changing economic environment that means I spend a great deal of time keeping up to date on trends in the financial industry and how it’s covered in the media. Along with identifying trends and using them to develop sound media relations strategies, I work on media pitching and writing for clients.
What I Did Before BlissPR
I began my career at a small, independent agency in Florida where we focused on entertainment and special events clients such as the Florida State Fairgrounds and Feld Entertainment, as well as non-profits such as The Pediatric Cancer Foundation. After leaving the warmer climates of Florida for “real winters” in New York, I shifted my focus to the financial services industry, serving as the Press Secretary for the New York State Banking Department.
What I Do for Fun
Having moved to New York from Florida only a few years ago, I love to spend my free time exploring everything the city has to offer – from the amazing food and museums, to the quirky events that give the place such character. An avid baker (and sweet tooth), I do my best to make use of my tiny city kitchen to try new dessert recipes from time-to-time. During football season though, my favorite place to be is anywhere that I’m able to watch the Florida Gators play!
