Why PR?
I have always been awed by the transformative power of the written word. From my early days as a student journalist to my years as a speech writer and newsletter editor, I have relished the opportunity to craft compelling stories and influence some of the most important issues affecting our world. Public relations provides that opportunity and allows me to learn, write, blog, strategize and speak about a wide spectrum of fascinating topics—and to work each day with brilliant, exciting, creative people.
Areas of Expertise and Interest
My work at Bliss touches primarily on the professional services industry, assisting companies with writing, messaging and media outreach. I am a political junkie with several years’ experience in government communications and public affairs work that enables me to help my clients see their issues through a policy lens. Having lived, studied and worked overseas, I enjoy partnering with clients that have a global footprint.
What I Did Before BlissPR
Before joining BlissPR, I spent ten months in New Delhi handling communications work for non-governmental organizations tackling poverty and promoting entrepreneurship across rural India. Prior to my stint in South Asia, I wrote, edited and conducted foreign policy research for one of Washington, DC’s most prominent lobbying organizations, focusing on U.S. policy in the Middle East. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Journalism and Political Science.
What I Do for Fun
I love to spend my free time exploring New York City on my bicycle, stretching out on my yoga mat, listening to live music, or sipping coffee with the latest New Yorker magazine in hand. I rarely pass up the chance to travel, watch a captivating lecture or sample a new restaurant. My fall Saturdays are spent cheering on my beloved Wisconsin Badgers’ football team.
