Why PR?
Public relations is a perfect combination of my two passions: writing and news. I have always been interested in conceptualizing and writing stories and more recently, I have turned into a news-junkie. Public relations has allowed me to leverage my two passions into a career. I love being in a dynamic industry where I am constantly learning, reading the news, and incorporating current events and breaking news into media relations strategies. Every day brings something new and challenging; there’s never a dull moment.
Areas of Expertise and Interest
I work mainly with clients in professional services. My expertise lies in writing, pitching, and developing targeted marketing and media relations strategies. I have a communications and media background as well as corporate experience from working in house at a professional service firm.
What I Did Before BlissPR
From 2010-2011, I worked in-house as a public relations coordinator for LaSalle Network, a Chicago professional search firm. At LaSalle, I was in charge of developing media strategies and conducting day-to-day public relations activities. I have also interned at ABC Chicago News and Fleishman-Hillard in Washington, DC. I graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with a BA in Journalism and a minor in Business.
What I Do for Fun
As a recent transplant from Chicago, I love exploring the city, meeting new people, and trying as many new things as possible. As a “foodie,” I’m excited to explore the culinary scene and discover all of the little “hole in the wall” restaurants NYC has to offer.
